“The Minister for Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, has filed nomination forms to contest in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary primaries in the Bosomtwe Constituency. He expresses gratitude for going unopposed and reaffirms his commitment to progress, development, and inclusive representation for the constituents. Meanwhile, the NPP’s Public Relations Officer in the Ministry of Education, Kwasi Kwarteng, files forms for the Asante Akim North Constituency, and former Education Minister Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh seeks re-election in Manhyia South.”
The Minister for Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, has officially filed nomination forms to contest in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary primaries for the Bosomtwe Constituency. Dr. Adutwum expressed delight at being allowed to go unopposed, seeing it as a reaffirmation of the people’s confidence in his leadership.
In a statement, the Minister stated, “I am delighted that the people of Bosomtwe, for the second time, have reaffirmed their confidence in me by allowing me to go unopposed. This is a referendum on their trust in my stewardship.”
He further emphasized his commitment to continue the journey of progress, development, and inclusive representation for the constituents. Dr. Adutwum has represented the constituency since 2017 and highlighted the overwhelming support he has received during his tenure.
Kwasi Kwarteng, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the Ministry of Education, has also filed his nomination forms to contest in the NPP parliamentary primaries for the Asante Akim North Constituency. Kwarteng sees this as a call for development and aims to unite the people to achieve a vision of progress.
In a related development, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, former Minister for Education, has filed his nomination to seek a 5th term in Parliament.
He filed to be re-elected as the NPP’s Parliamentary Candidate for Manhyia South in Kumasi. Dr. Prempeh expressed his appreciation for the support received since his debut in 2008 and highlighted his commitment to service, sacrifice, and selflessness.
The upcoming NPP parliamentary primaries are significant steps in the political careers of these education figures, reflecting their dedication to public service and the political landscape in Ghana.
