Paxton Family Volunteers Transform Mafi Adafe Community
The journey to Mafi Adafe, a small farming community in the Central Tongu District of the Volta Region, was an exciting and memorable experience for the Paxton family volunteers.
With a population of about 500 inhabitants, the community primarily engages in maize, peanut, and cassava cultivation, as well as gari processing. Despite their hard work, the community faces significant challenges, particularly in educational infrastructure.
During their ten-day stay, the Paxton family made a profound impact by constructing a much-needed washroom for the school children. This act of service inspired and encouraged the community’s efforts toward improving education.
Immersing in Local Culture
Beyond their construction project, the Paxton family fully immersed themselves in various cultural activities. They participated in cassava harvesting and gari processing, collected firewood, performed household chores, and engaged in fun games with the local children. These activities allowed them to experience the daily lives of the Mafi Adafe residents and fostered a deeper connection with the community.
A Journey of Service and Self-Discovery
The Paxton family expressed their profound joy for the opportunity to embark on this journey of service, self-discovery, and impact. Their experience in Mafi Adafe not only benefited the community but also enriched their own lives.
