Dr Eric Nkansah, Director-General of GES, wins the Most Outstanding Contribution to Educational Equity and Inclusion award at the APSO 2024. The award highlights his and GES’s dedication to advancing educational equity.
Acknowledged for Outstanding Contribution to Educational Equity and Inclusion
Dr Eric Nkansah, the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), has been honoured with the Most Outstanding Contribution to Educational Equity and Inclusion award at the 3rd edition of the Africa Public Service Optimum (APSO) Awards. The event, organized by the Business Executive, was held in Accra on Wednesday, June 5, 2024.
Acceptance Speech and Dedication
In his acceptance speech, Dr. Nkansah expressed his gratitude to key figures in the government, stating, “I am grateful to His Excellency the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo, and the Honorable Minister for Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, for the opportunity to meaningfully serve and contribute to moving Ghana’s education system forward.”
Dr. Nkansah dedicated the award to his family and the entire GES staff, acknowledging their immense support. He emphasized that this achievement is a testament to their collective efforts and commitment to the cause of educational equity and inclusion.
APSO Awards Ceremony
The APSO Awards aim to identify and publicly recognize exemplary performance by top-level public servants and public institutions across Africa. The awards ceremony was attended by seasoned African public servants, public policy analysts, diplomats, traditional leaders, civil society activists, and the international media.
