Awudome Senior High School (Awusco), Damango Senior High, and Bugurungu Senior High School showcased their academic excellence at this year’s National Science & Maths Quiz Competition. However, when the day came to a close, Awusco emerged as the victors, surpassing their rivals with an impressive 48 points.

The 30th Anniversary edition of the National Science & Maths Quiz kicked off, on October 7th, 2023. As an exciting highlight of the 30th Anniversary celebrations, this year’s NSMQ is being hosted in two distinct regions: KNUST in Kumasi and the National Theatre in Accra.

At Saara-Mensah Auditorium, the second group of contestants took their seats promptly at 11 am. At precisely 12:10 pm, Dr. Thelma Ohene-Agyei, the Quiz Mistress, officially launched the competition. Awudome maintained a winning streak from Round One through to Round Four

 

Awudome SHS solving the Problem of the Day which got them the juicy Prudential Life Insurance Award

 

The most remarkable moment of the Quiz occurred during Round 3 when Awudome SHS successfully solved the Problem of the Day, earning them the coveted Prudential Life Insurance prize worth five hundred Ghana cedis.

This historic occurrence represents the first time the National Championship spans across two regions. KNUST will serve as the venue for the initial stages of the competition, with the Grand Finale scheduled to captivate audiences at the National Theatre.
