UEW Vice-Chancellor Unveils Initiatives for Academic Excellence and Technological Advancement
During the matriculation ceremony for fresh distance education students at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Vice-Chancellor Prof. Stephen Jobson Mitchual announced a series of initiatives aimed at fostering academic excellence and embracing technological advancements to meet the evolving needs of its student body.
Expansion of Study Centres
Prof. Mitchual highlighted the establishment of a new study centre at the Ajumako campus, bringing the total count to 45. This expansion aims to cater to diverse educational needs and foster an environment conducive to flexible learning and academic growth.
Technological Advancements
UEW is making strides in technological advancements through the College for Distance and e-Learning (CODeL). The migration of student records onto the Online Student Information System (OSIS) platform ensures easy access to academic records anytime, anywhere.
Additionally, the transition to interactive online course materials facilitated by the Learning Management System (LMS) empowers students to engage with their education in a dynamic digital environment.

Admissions Statistics
UEW has admitted 9,377 students for various diploma, bachelor’s, and postgraduate programmes out of 10,696 admitted applicants for the 2023/2024 academic year. This demonstrates the growing demand for quality education and the university’s commitment to meeting this demand while embracing innovation and inclusivity.
