The Board of Regents, Word and Spirit Divinity College and Theological Seminary West Africa, an internationally accredited and chartered institution, has awarded the Excellent Leadership and Humanitarian Services Award to Madam Mawusi Nudekor Awity, the Director General of the Ghana TVET Service.

The award was presented to Madam Awity in recognition of her exceptional leadership in promoting technical and vocational education in Ghana. She has also been praised for her fight against women’s violence and the girl child.

The award was presented at the University’s Graduation Ceremony held at Mawuli Senior High School in the Volta Region on Saturday, August 5, 2023. Madam Awity was represented by Engr. Christian Agordah, Ag. Volta Regional Director, Ghana TVET Service, Enoch Amegbletor, Head, Corporate Affairs, Harry Adjimah, Principal Comboni Technical/Vocational Institute, and Samuel H. K. Avevor, Principal Kpando Technical Institute.

Madam Awity is a highly respected figure in the Ghanaian education sector. She has over 20 years of experience in technical and vocational education and has held several senior positions in the Ghana Education Service. She is a strong advocate for quality technical and vocational education and is committed to ensuring that all Ghanaians have access to the skills they need to succeed in the workplace.

This award is a well-deserved recognition of Madam Awity’s outstanding contributions to the Ghanaian education sector. She is an inspiration to many, and her work is making a real difference in the lives of Ghanaians.
