“Africa Education Watch (Eduwatch), a Ghanaian education policy think tank, celebrated its 4th anniversary on October 18, 2023, with a cake-cutting ceremony and a reflection on four years of dedicated efforts to enhance Ghana’s education system.”

Accra, Ghana – Africa Education Watch (Eduwatch), a Ghanaian education policy think tank, celebrated its 4th anniversary on October 18, 2023, with a cake-cutting ceremony and a reflection on four years of dedicated efforts to enhance Ghana’s education system.

The ceremony was attended by partners STAR-Ghana Foundation and ICDP – International Child Development Programme, as well as other stakeholders from the education sector.

In his remarks, Eduwatch Executive Director Kofi Asare highlighted the organization’s key accomplishments over the past four years, including:

• Conducting research and publishing reports on a wide range of education issues, including the quality of education, teacher training, and school infrastructure.
• Advocating for changes to education policy, such as the implementation of the Free Senior High School policy and the improvement of teacher training programs.
• Working with partners to implement programs that improve the quality of education, such as the Eduwatch School Improvement Support program.

Asare also thanked Eduwatch’s partners and collaborators for their support over the past four years.

He said, “We are grateful to all our partners and collaborators who believe(d) in our dream of influencing policy to achieve an accountable, relevant and responsive education system that delivers quality for all.”
