The University of Cape Coast (UCC) has unveiled the academic calendar for the 2023/2024 academic year, providing students with a roadmap for the upcoming semester. From Continuous Assessments to Semester Exams, here’s a breakdown of the important dates and events for both Level 100 and continuing students.
First Semester:
The academic year kicks off with the first semester, commencing with Level 100 students’ First Continuous Assessment (CA) from February 12th to February 16th, 2024. This initial assessment serves as an early evaluation of students’ progress and understanding.
Continuing students, on the other hand, will undertake their Second Continuous Assessment (CA) from February 19th to February 23rd, 2024. This assessment provides an opportunity for students to showcase their knowledge and skills acquired throughout the semester.
Following this, Level 100 students will have their Second Continuous Assessment (CA) from March 11th to March 15th, 2024, further gauging their understanding of the subject matter.
Results of the Continuous Assessments will be displayed from March 25th to March 29th, 2024, allowing students to review their performance before lectures conclude on March 22nd, 2024.
A revision period and Easter break follow, beginning on March 25th and concluding on April 2nd, 2024, providing students with an opportunity to prepare for the Semester Exams.
The first semester culminates with the Semester Exams, scheduled from April 3rd to April 19th, 2024, assessing students’ overall understanding of the course material.
Inter-Semester Break:
Following the conclusion of the first semester, students will enjoy an inter-semester break from April 20th to May 3rd, 2024, providing an opportunity to relax and recharge.
Marking and Grading:
Faculty members will undertake the task of marking and grading examination scripts from April 20th to May 11th, 2024, ensuring fairness and accuracy in evaluating students’ performance.
Release of Academic Results:
Students can expect to receive their examination results from May 13th to May 17th, 2024, providing valuable feedback and serving as a basis for academic progression.
Teaching Weeks:
Continuing students will have 12 teaching weeks dedicated to lectures, tutorials, and educational activities, while Level 100 students will have 10 teaching weeks to accommodate their transition and adjustment period.
