The National Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education (PRINCOF) in Ghana has unveiled the academic calendar for the 2023/2024 academic year. The calendar, which received approval from the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) and the Ministry of Education, introduces a unique IN-IN-IN-OUT Residential Policy.
Under the new residential policy, Levels 100 to 300 students will be accommodated on campus simultaneously, while Level 400 students will commute from outside the campus for lectures. This approach aims to optimize residential arrangements and create a more streamlined academic experience for students.
The academic calendar is designed to run for all students at the same time throughout the academic year. PRINCOF emphasized the importance of this synchronized approach, providing uniformity in the academic activities of the forty-six accredited public Colleges of Education in Ghana.
The adoption of the IN-IN-IN-OUT Residential Policy reflects a strategic move by PRINCOF to enhance the efficiency of college operations while ensuring that all students have access to the necessary resources and facilities. This policy acknowledges the unique needs of different student levels, optimizing the use of campus infrastructure.
As the academic year unfolds, the implementation of this residential policy will be closely monitored to assess its impact on student experiences, academic performance, and overall operational efficiency. PRINCOF remains committed to adapting educational policies that foster an environment conducive to learning and development in Colleges of Education across the country.
Prospective and current students, as well as stakeholders in the education sector, are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the details of the 2023–2024 academic calendar and the accompanying IN-IN-IN-OUT Residential Policy for Colleges of Education in Ghana.
