The admission process for the Four-Year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) programs in the Forty-Six (46) Public Colleges of Education in Ghana for the 2024/2025 academic year has officially commenced. If you’re passionate about shaping the future through education, now is the time to take the first step towards becoming a qualified teacher.

General Admission Requirements:

To qualify for admission into the B.Ed programs, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • For WASSCE/SSSCE Applicants: Credit passes in six (6) subjects, including English Language, Core Mathematics, Social Studies, and three (3) elective subjects relevant to the course of study.

  • For GCE Advance Level Applicants: Passes in three (3) subjects (with at least one pass at Grade D or better) and credit passes in five (5) GCE Ordinary Level subjects, including English Language, Mathematics, and a Science or Social Science subject.

  • For ABCE Applicants: Passes in three (3) subjects (with at least one pass at Grade D or better) and credit passes in five (5) subjects, including English Language, Mathematics, Integrated Science, or Social Studies.

  • For TVET Applicants: TVET Certificate II with Lower Credit (C-) or better in six (6) subjects, including English, Mathematics, Integrated Science or Social Studies, and three (3) relevant Elective Subjects.

  • For Foreign Qualifications: Equivalence determination and eligibility for admission by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC).

Ready to apply? Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Make a payment of Three Hundred Ghana Cedis (GHS 300.00) at any branch of the Consolidated Bank, Ghana (CBG) Limited.
  2. Receive a Personal Identification Number (PIN) and an Admission Application Serial Number.
  3. Visit the Colleges of Education admission website (admission.coeportal.edu.gh) and complete the online application form using the provided PIN.
  4. Print a copy of the application form and send it, along with a passport photograph and copies of results slips, to the Principal of your first-choice college via EMS priority envelope.
  5. Keep your mobile phone handy for notifications regarding the status of your application and admission offers.
