“The National Teaching Council (NTC) has initiated the registration process for GTLE 1, 2024, targeting degree holders and PGDE holders. The portal is also open for March 2024 resit registration. Learn how to register and the associated fees.”
The National Teaching Council (NTC) has officially opened the registration portal for GTLE 1, 2024, specifically catering to degree holders and PGDE holders. Additionally, the portal is accepting registrations for the March 2024 resit for those who did not pass the September 2023 GTLE.
To streamline the registration process and provide convenience, the NTC has collaborated with telecommunication network companies in Ghana to generate a special code for this exercise.
How to Register for GTLE Licensure Papers:
The registration process consists of two distinct steps:
- Ghana Teacher Licensure Indexing: Prospective teachers are required to pay for indexing separately.
- Examination Registration Fees: The registration fee for the examination is also paid separately.
Both payments qualify candidates to sit for the GTLE Resit paper(s) they may have failed. Fresh candidates are also required to pay for indexing.

GTLE 1 March 2024 Registration Fees:
Candidates are obligated to pay the indexing fee of GH¢50, which is a separate and mandatory payment. The following are the registration fees for different categories:
- Fresh Candidates: GH¢450
- Resit Candidates (1 Paper): GH¢150
- Resit Candidates (2 Papers): GH¢210
- Resit Candidates (3 Papers): GH¢385
GTLE 1 March 2024 Registration Deadline:
The registration window is open from 20th January 2024 to 20th February 2024, providing a one-month period for candidates to complete their registration.
