The winners of the 2023 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) are Presbyterian Boys Secondary School (PRESEC) Legon. They defeated Opoku Ware Senior High School and Achimota Secondary School in the grand finale, which took place on October 30, 2023, at the National Theatre in Accra, Ghana.

This is PRESEC’s eighth NSMQ victory, making it the most successful school in the competition’s history. They previously won in 1995, 2003, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2020, and 2022.

The 2023 NSMQ was a keenly contested competition, with all three finalist schools performing at a high level. However, PRESEC ultimately proved to be the better team on the day, and they were deserving winners.

The NSMQ, an annual competition that tests students’ knowledge in physics, chemistry, mathematics, and biology, is a highly anticipated event in the Ghanaian academic calendar. This year’s competition was no exception, with fierce competitors from various schools vying for the prestigious title.
