“Apply for promotion to higher grades within the Ghana Education Service (GES) – Deputy Director, Assistant Director I & II, and Principal Superintendent. Check eligibility criteria and apply online before the deadline.”

 

 

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced the commencement of applications for promotions to higher grades for the year 2023. Qualified and eligible serving officers and teachers are invited to apply for consideration for promotion to the following grades: Deputy Director, Assistant Director I & II, and Principal Superintendent.

Qualification Criteria:

To be eligible for promotion to the respective grades, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. Deputy Director:
    • Promoted to the grade of Assistant Director I on or before 2019.
    • Continuously at post since the promotion date (except for periods of approved leave of absence).
  2. Assistant Director I:
    • Promoted to the grade of Assistant Director II on or before 2019.
    • Continuously at post since the promotion date (except for periods of approved leave of absence).
  3. Assistant Director II:
    • Promoted to the grade of Principal Superintendent on or before 2019.
    • Continuously at post since the promotion date (except for periods of approved leave of absence).
  4. Principal Superintendent:
    • Promoted to the grade of Senior Superintendent I on or before 2019.
    • Continuously at post since the promotion date (except for periods of approved leave of absence).

Additional Qualifications for Master’s Degree and Ph.D. Holders:

For applicants with Master’s Degree and Ph.D., the following additional qualifications apply:

  • Masters/Ph.D. programme should be on the approved GES course of study.
  • The Masters/Ph.D. certificate should not have been obtained before the previous promotion.
  • Applicants using Masters/Ph.D. certificates for promotion should have obtained their certificate on or before 2021.

Mode of Application:

All interested applicants are required to visit the official GES promotions website (www.gespromotions.gov.gh) from Monday, 26th February 2024, to complete the online application process. Applicants must adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Complete the application form online and upload a passport-sized photograph.
  • Upload only the last Promotion, Upgrading, or Appointment Letter.
  • Applicants using Masters/Doctorate Degree must upload their certificates.
  • Ensure all documents uploaded are in PDF format, except for the passport-sized photograph.
