Public basic schools in Ghana are set to resume for the 2023/2024 academic year on October 3, 2023. The first term will run for 12 weeks, from October 3 to December 21, 2023. The second term will run for 14 weeks, from January 9 to April 11, 2024. The third term will run for 12 weeks, from April 18 to July 1, 2024.
Accra, Ghana. In a highly anticipated announcement, Public Basic Schools are gearing up to welcome eager students back to classrooms on October 3, 2023, marking the commencement of the 2023/2024 academic year. With excitement and optimism in the air, parents, students, and educators are preparing for this momentous occasion.
2023 Third Term Vacation
The third term of the 2023 Academic year ends on Thursday, September 14, 2023, as students shall vacate for the successful end to the Academic year.
Academic Calendar Unveiled
The academic calendar for the upcoming year promises 38 weeks filled with learning, growth, and memorable experiences.
The new academic year will be a return to normalcy after two years of disruption due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Here’s a sneak peek into the key dates:
FIRST TERM (12 WEEKS):
Commencing on October 3, 2023, the first term is set to run until December 21, 2023, providing students with an enriching educational foundation for the year ahead.
SECOND TERM (14 WEEKS):
The second term will kick off on January 9, 2024, and extend through April 11, 2024.
This extended term will offer ample opportunities for students to delve deeper into their studies and explore new horizons.
THIRD TERM (12 WEEKS):
The final term, beginning on April 24, 2024, and concluding on July 12, 2024, will bring the academic year to an exciting close. Students will have the chance to showcase their accomplishments and celebrate their progress.
Preparations in Full Swing
Public Basic Schools have been hard at work to ensure that the return to classrooms is safe, comfortable, and conducive to learning. Health and safety measures will be in place to protect students and staff, including rigorous cleaning protocols and, where necessary, social distancing measures.
