As part of AshantiFest 2025, Ashanti Regional Minister Dr. Frank Amoakohene donates exercise books to students, inspired by a 9-year-old’s plea to support education.
In a heartwarming moment during AshantiFest 2025, the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, presented exercise books to outstanding students who participated in the Education, Science & Technology Fair.
This noble gesture was inspired by a 9-year-old prodigy, Nana Owusu, who captivated audiences with his narration of the history of Lake Bosomtwe. In his impassioned presentation, Nana Owusu humbly appealed for basic educational supplies like exercise books and pens for students across the region—a request that deeply moved the minister.

“His voice touched my heart,” said Dr. Amoakohene. “It reminded me that leadership must respond to even the smallest yet most sincere voices. Today, we’re acting on it.”
The donation, made during the festival, marks the beginning of a region-wide initiative to provide learning materials to underserved schools and students, reinforcing the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council’s commitment to educational development and equity.
The Minister confirmed that this support will be scaled to benefit more schools across the Ashanti Region, as part of an ongoing investment in the future of young learners.
AshantiFest 2025 continues to celebrate not just culture and entertainment but also innovation, youth excellence, and social impact.
Together, Ashanti is rising—one student at a time.
