EducationGhana| January 11 | 2020 BECE and WASSCE Exam Malpractices: The Ghana Education Service (GES) has sacked 11 teachers from both basic and senior high schools over their involvement in examination malpractices that engulfed the 2020 West African Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSFE) and the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
The GES in a statement issued on September 21, 2021, to all regional directors of education indicated, that the Management of Ghana Education Service (GES) refers to a report from the West African Examination Council (WAEC) on alleged exams malpractice by some officers of Ghana Education Service (GES) during the WASSCE and BECE, 2020.

Investigation
The GES said the underlisted officers were invited to appear before a Committee at the GES Headquarters, Accra for a hearing over the allegations of their engagement in Examination malpractice.
”During the hearing, they admitted the act contrary to Section 3.32(III) of the Code of Conduct for staff of Ghana Education Service (GES).” The statement said.
