The AAMUSTED Alumni Association hosted its 2nd National Congress in Kumasi, electing new leaders and discussing alumni contributions to tackling unemployment in Ghana.
Kumasi, Ghana — March 29, 2025— The Alumni Association of the Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED) has successfully held its second National Congress at the University’s Kumasi campus.
The congress brought together over 150 alumni members from across Ghana under the theme “Addressing Unemployment in Ghana: The Role of the AAMUSTED Alumni.”
The congress served as a pivotal platform for alumni to reconnect, elect new leaders, and develop actionable strategies to support the university and help combat youth unemployment nationwide. Discussions focused on leveraging alumni expertise and networks to enhance job creation, entrepreneurship, and skills training opportunities.
A key highlight of the event was the election of new national executives to lead the association over the next two years. The congress also explored initiatives aimed at increasing the association’s impact and strengthening support for brilliant but financially challenged students through scholarships.
In a message delivered on his behalf by Prof. Isaac Boateng, the pro vice-chancellor, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Frederick K. Sarfo praised the association for its commitment to the growth of AAMUSTED and its contributions toward nation-building.

The congress concluded with renewed energy and commitment among members to expand the association’s influence and work collaboratively toward national development.
