Stakeholder Engagement
The negotiations involve multiple stakeholders, including:
- Government Representatives
- Labour Unions
- Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC)
- Ministry of Finance
These discussions are expected to address concerns about inflation, cost of living adjustments, and other factors impacting workers’ welfare.
Expectations from Labour Unions
Labour unions have consistently advocated for salary increments that reflect the economic realities faced by Ghanaian workers. With inflation rates and living costs rising, unions are expected to push for adjustments that align with these challenges while promoting industrial harmony.

Dr. Pelpuo emphasized the government’s dedication to fostering a harmonious relationship with labour unions and ensuring that the outcomes of the negotiations balance the needs of workers and the state’s fiscal capacity.
“We remain committed to ensuring a fair and transparent process that takes into account the needs of all stakeholders,” he added.
What’s Next?
The 2025 salary negotiations are still in the early stages, with more discussions expected in the coming weeks. Stakeholders are urged to remain patient as the government works towards achieving an equitable resolution.
