The National President of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) Rev. Isaac Owusu has informed the Minister of Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, that their Members do not trust them on issues related to TM 1 laptops anymore.

He was speaking at the 2022 Ghana Teacher Prize event organised at Tamale on October 5, 2022, which was also in commemoration of the World Teachers Day Celebration.

Rev. Isaac Owusu minced no words when addressing the delay of the one-teacher one-laptop at the just-held Ghana Teacher Prize ceremony.

The GNAT president said though the TM 1 Laptop initiative was laudable, the laudable initiative has given all union leaders in education a headache and their members do not trust them when it comes to this laptop issue.

He further indicated that the Union Leaders lack new words of encouragement to be given to their members on the inability of the government to successfully distribute the laptops to the deserving beneficiaries.

”Now the teachers that are working under the primary and KG who are implementing the new policy, and the new curriculum, who needed the laptop most are yet to receive their laptop.” He lamented.

He thereby called on the Minister to as a matter of urgency, order the manufacturers to quickly distribute the laptop to all beneficiaries.

”o Mr Minister, if not for nothing at all, next month will be exactly one year their money was deducted, so we are pleading with you to make sure they receive the laptop in no time.” He concluded.
