Ferdinand | EducationGhana | jUNE 12 |JUST IN:GNAT Bontrase Local elects New Executives
The Bontrase Local of the Effutu – Awutu District of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) in the Central Region yesterday (Monday) June 11 elected its Executives for the 2018-2020 GNAT year.
The Cheaply expected but keenly Contested Election was Conducted by the District Executives and superseded by the District Secretary, Mr Julius Kpodo.
The Election took place at the Bontrase D/A JHS at Awutu Bontrase in the Awutu Senya West District of the Central Region.
The District Youth Coordinator, Mr Shallom Essel, who took the Delegates through some Intellectual discourse, encouraged the Delegates to exhibit positive youthful ideologies that will promote the objective of the Ghana National Association of Teachers and its members.
Speaking at the Conference, Ellis Ferdinand  Blogger and founder of EducationGhana.net indicated that there was a need for Teachers to challenge the Status quo and promote positive teacher ideologies.
He urged all teachers to take up development projects in whatever area of specifications to promote themselves and the teaching profession out of their current locations.
He also urged the Teachers to support each other’s work and also stop sabotaging each other’s efforts.
He urged the Members of the teaching fraternity most especially members of the Ghana National Association of Teachers to defend their members and seek for good Conditions of service from their Employers.
Mr Marvin Asiedu, the Chairman Of Ayensuako Local GNAT who was re-elected for another two-year term, also encouraged the members to take advantage of the objectives of the Association as well as the benefits of members.
He also urged the youth to acquire copies of the GNAT Constitution to be able to know how the Association is being run and also hold the leaders accountable.
