The Ghana Education Service (GES) has made a significant announcement regarding the upcoming Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for the year 2024.
This important update, signed by Prince C. Agyemang-Duah, Acting Director of the Schools and Instructions Division, brings clarity to the examination schedules for school candidates across the country.

BECE 2024 Dates
According to the communication from the GES management, the BECE 2024 for School Candidates (SC) is scheduled to take place from July 8th to July 12th, 2024.
This period marks a crucial milestone for junior high school students as they prepare to demonstrate their academic prowess and readiness for the next educational phase.
WASSCE 2024 Dates
Similarly, the WASSCE 2024 for School Candidates (SC) will commence from July 1st to August 31st, 2024.
This extended duration provides senior high school students with ample time to showcase their knowledge and skills across various subjects, paving the way for future academic and career pursuits.
Registration Period
In addition to announcing the examination dates, the GES has stated that the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) will communicate the registration period for candidates in due course.

Communication Protocol
GES has directed all Regional Directors of Education to disseminate this information to Metro/Municipal/District Directors of Education.
