Ferdinand | EducationGhana | April 12|Big Win for Students: NSS Reposting Issue Resolved with 3,910 Cases Addressed
On April 5th, TEIN coordinators, led by a student leader, successfully negotiated with the National Service Authority (NSA) to resolve reposting issues for teacher trainees, ensuring 3,910 students receive reposting support.
On April 5th, 2025, a major breakthrough occurred for students across Ghana, as National TEIN Coordinators led by the prominent National Coordinator, Mohammed Sadiq Gombilla, traveled from Tamale to Accra to resolve the ongoing National Service Scheme (NSS) reposting issues affecting teacher trainees. The intervention, which involved productive discussions with Felix Gyamfi, Director of the National Service Authority (NSA), resulted in the successful resolution of reposting concerns for 3,910 students, including both TEIN and non-TEIN members.
Following these talks, 1437 reposting requests were uploaded into the NSS system, with 787 being successfully processed. Unfortunately, 650 requests failed due to incorrect NSS numbers provided by the students. The team quickly pivoted to addressing these issues and ensuring that all outstanding reposting cases are attended to. As of the latest update, 2,473 students remain to be processed, with work ongoing to resolve their cases.
In addition to the reposting progress, the leadership also expressed their gratitude to Mr. Felix Gyamfi and the NSA for their cooperation and responsiveness to the students’ concerns. The student leadership was quick to acknowledge the support of Salahadeen, whose efforts played a key role in strengthening the position of the TEIN and contributing to this successful negotiation.

The leadership expressed heartfelt apologies to the affected students for the delays, reassuring them that such issues would not occur again in the future. The statement concluded with a strong message of solidarity, emphasizing that the NDC values its student body and that TEIN remains a committed partner for student welfare.
This positive development underscores the power of effective student advocacy and the ongoing commitment of the TEIN to addressing the needs of its members and ensuring a brighter future for Ghana’s students.
