Following a crucial meeting with the Vice-Chancellor of their school, the Students Representative Council of the University of Professional Studies,(UPSA) Accra, has agreed for this end-of-second-semester examination to be conducted online.
Earlier, their students of the university had opposed the decision, questioning its feasibility and questioning its appropriateness especially at a time where the world was dealing with a pandemic.
Some students also raised concerns about the provisions made for their colleagues who were in areas with poor internet connectivity.
This led to the Vice-Chancellor scheduling a meeting with the Students Representative Council and course representatives.
The meeting was held online.
At the meeting, Vice-Chancellor of the school, Prof. Abednego Feehi Okoe Amartey, explained to the students’ leaders that the online exams was going to be in the form of a take-home assignment with students having less than 48hours to turn in their responses.

“Go back and tell your people that it is take-home examination and not online examination,” the Vice-Chancellor told the Course Reps,” upsanewsroom.com quotes the Prof. Abednego Feehi Okoe Amartey as saying at the meeting.
The end of second-semester examinations at the school has been scheduled to start on Monday, May 18, 2020.
Meanwhile, the UPSA SRC has written to University management asking for the academic calendar to be extended by three weeks.
They explain that the extension will help them have more time to study as their lecturers have not been interactive enough for academic activity to be effective.
