EducationGhana| September 19| Teachers who entered amorous relationships with students shall not be protected -NAGRAT
The National Executive Council (NEC) of the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NGRAT) has cautioned teachers who entered amorous relationships with students, indicating such culprits shall not be protected by the union.
Best Basic 7 (JHS 1) Termly and Weekly Scheme of Learning
This was discussed at the NAGRAT National Council Meeting held on September 15, 2022, at NAGRAT Office, Adabraka, Accra.
”NAGRAT shall strive to promote the welfare of the teacher, it shall however not provide protection for any teacher who enters into an amorous relationship with a student.” The Union indicated.
The promotion of teachers continues to experience challenges, NAGRAT is calling on GES to engage the Union in addressing these challenges.

It is the prerogative of GES to transfer teachers, however, anyone transferred is entitled to two months of gross salary as a transfer grant.
Some teachers have been transferred and for over two years now have not been paid their transfer grant. This must be addressed without further delay.
NAGRAT also opposes the mileage clause being used to deny teachers what is due to them.
Payment of Responsibility allowance to teachers still remains a challenge. NAGRAT is calling on the management of GES to without delay resolve this.
