Kofi Asamoah Asamoah-Okyere of Presbyterian Boys’ SHS has been awarded GHC 3,000 as champion of the 2nd Edition Youth Advocacy Challenge at the Ghana Library Authority in Accra.
Accra, Ghana – April 17, 2025 – Kofi Asamoah Asamoah-Okyere, a student of Presbyterian Boys’ Senior High School (PRESEC), has been crowned the winner of the 2nd Edition Youth Advocacy Challenge, taking home a GHC 3,000 cash prize. The award was officially presented today at the Ghana Library Authority Head Office in Accra.

Launched to empower young Ghanaians aged 14 to 24, the Youth Advocacy Challenge invites participants to submit essays on pressing societal issues under a yearly theme. Kofi’s winning entry impressed the panel of judges with its insightful analysis, creativity, and call to action, hallmarks of the initiative’s goals to foster leadership, innovation, and civic engagement among youth.
At the presentation ceremony, representatives from the Ghana Library Authority and partner organisations lauded Kofi and all finalists for their passion and commitment. Mr. Emmanuel Sarfo, Head of Youth Programs at the Authority, remarked, “This competition shines a spotlight on the power of young voices to shape public discourse and inspire change across Ghana.”
Since its inception, the Youth Advocacy Challenge has become a cornerstone event for nurturing future leaders. Winners receive cash awards and ongoing mentorship opportunities, while all participants benefit from workshops on public speaking, research methods, and policy advocacy.
