OMSU ’05 Gives Back to Alma Mater
Two decades after completing Mawuli School, the Old Mawuli Students Union (OMSU) 2005 Year Group has returned to make a transformative impact where their academic journey began. The group has donated a fully equipped ICT laboratory, reaffirming their commitment to supporting education and technological advancement.
The gesture forms part of activities marking Mawuli School’s 75th Anniversary, under the theme “Mawuli@75: Sustaining the Legacy of Excellence.”
The new facility features modern computers, projectors, and high-speed internet access, designed to enhance digital literacy and support the teaching of ICT in line with Ghana’s secondary education curriculum.
A Testament to Unity and Vision
Speaking at the short inauguration ceremony, representatives of OMSU ’05 described the project as a symbol of unity, vision, and gratitude.
“This ICT lab stands as a testament to our collective spirit and our love for Mawuli School. We wanted to give back meaningfully to the place that shaped us,” one member noted.
The project, according to the group, was funded through collective contributions and coordinated efforts among alumni in Ghana and abroad.
School Authorities Commend the Gesture
The Headmaster of Mawuli School expressed profound appreciation to the 2005 Year Group, describing the donation as a timely intervention that will significantly enhance teaching and learning.
He added that the ICT lab aligns with the school’s goal of becoming a digital learning hub within the Volta Region, and urged other year groups to emulate the example set by OMSU ’05.
Looking Ahead
The inauguration of the ICT lab adds to the growing legacy of Mawuli School’s old students, whose continuous support strengthens the institution’s tradition of excellence.
As part of the celebrations, the school community also engaged in mentorship sessions, tree planting, and thanksgiving activities, reinforcing the theme of sustainability and service.
