NUGS appoints new executives for its UK Chapter for the 2025/2026 year, tasking them to strengthen student representation and welfare for Ghanaian students in the UK.The National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) has announced the appointment of new executives to steer the affairs of its United Kingdom Chapter for the 2025/2026 administrative year.The appointments, which take effect immediately, were formalized in a letter dated January 20, 2026, and issued by the President of NUGS, Mr Rashid Ibrahim.
Appointments Made Under NUGS Constitution
According to the official communication, the appointments were made in accordance with Article 17(a)(i)(9) of the NUGS Constitution, as amended.NUGS stated that the new leadership is expected to advance the welfare, advocacy, and collective interests of Ghanaian students studying in the United Kingdom.Full List of Appointed Executives
The following individuals have been appointed to serve on the NUGS-UK Chapter Executive Committee.Samuel Obiri Yeboah has been named President. Gifty Abbam Tawiah will serve as General Secretary. Angela Elinam Atsu takes up the role of Secretary for Finance.Derrick Asante Agyapong has been appointed Secretary for Programmes and Projects. Emmanuella Manukure will serve as Secretary for Women’s Development. Samuel Abokyi has been appointed Secretary for Press.Call for Dedicated and Ethical Leadership
In the appointment letter, the NUGS President congratulated the new executives and urged them to discharge their duties with diligence, integrity, and commitment.He emphasised that the leadership of the UK Chapter plays a critical role in representing the interests of Ghanaian students abroad and in strengthening NUGS’ international presence.Strengthening Student Representation Abroad
