Teachers in the public basic schools have been thrown into a state of confusion after some districts in the Ashanti and Eastern Regions have allegedly rescheduled the duration for the Workshop on the New Curriculum to a week.
According to some districts in the Ashanti Region, the Ghana Education Service has directed them to rescheduled and compress the entire training into one Cohort of Five Days.
In this regard,teachers from the Kindergarten to Basic Six,including headteachers are expected to take part in the workshop which has been rescheduled for August 13 to 17,2019.
In the Eastern Region, the Municipal /District Directors who supposedly met with the Regional Education Director have also rescheduled the workshop to one week.
With this, the workshop is expected to run concurrently in all centres from 13th to 17th August, 2019.
The Confusion
Teachers from such districts circulated the information to other terachers whose districts has not rescheduled their meeting days as being speculated.
Teachers questioned the decision for the continuos rescheduling of their workshop which many believed might be due to financial challenges being faced by the Ghana Education Service.
Meanwhile, the workshop is expected to begin August 13 to August 30 as earlier scheduled since the Ghana Education Service is yet to officially come out to debunk the alleged rummours.

That is, all teachers at the kg and primary in the District (DBI) are expected at Daffiama SHS on 13th -17th August ,2019 for the training. Please very urgent and all should share with colleagues.
