The Ministry of Education (MoE) and the National Teaching Council (NTC) host an appreciation breakfast for sponsors of the Ghana Teacher Prize 2024, strengthening partnerships for future events.

 


Ministry of Education and NTC Appreciate Sponsors of Ghana Teacher Prize 2024

The Ministry of Education (MoE), in collaboration with the National Teaching Council (NTC), hosted an appreciation breakfast for sponsors of the 2024 Ghana Teacher Prize on February 8, 2025. The event, held at the Tang Palace Hotel in Accra, aimed to acknowledge the vital support of sponsors and to strengthen collaborations for the upcoming 2025 Ghana Teacher Prize.

 

Strengthening Partnerships for Teacher Recognition

The appreciation breakfast was graced by notable personalities, including Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, Minister of Education, Mrs. Mamle Andrew, Chief Director of MoE, Dr. Christian Addai Poku, Registrar of NTC, along with Heads of Agencies under MoE and Union Leaders.

In his welcome address, Dr. Christian Addai Poku expressed profound gratitude to sponsors for their continued support since 2018. He emphasized NTC’s appreciation for their role in recognizing the dedication of teachers across the nation.

Government’s Commitment to Teacher Welfare

Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, the Minister of Education, highlighted the crucial role of sponsors in making the Ghana Teacher Prize a success. He commended teachers nationwide for their dedication and announced a 20% salary increment for teachers who opt to serve in rural areas, fulfilling a pledge by the President.

The Minister also encouraged teachers to share their opinions regarding the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE) to ensure fairness in assessments. He further congratulated Mad. Stella Gyimah Larbi and Mad. Faith Aku Dzakpasu, winners of the 2022 and 2023 Ghana Teacher Prize, for securing spots among the Top 50 finalists for the Global Teacher Prize.

The 2024 Ghana Teacher Prize successfully highlighted the exceptional contributions of educators and the support of key sponsors.
