Ghana’s 46 public Colleges of Education have opened applications for the 2025/2026 academic year. Find out the entry requirements, how to apply, and the deadline for submission.

 

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially opened admissions for the 2025/2026 academic year at 46 public Colleges of Education across the country. These institutions offer a four-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degree, aimed at training the next generation of professional teachers in Ghana.

📌 General Admission Requirements for Colleges of Education in Ghana

 

1️⃣ WASSCE/SSSCE Applicants

WASSCE Candidates:

  • Must have credit passes (A1-C6) in six subjects, including:
    • Three core subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Integrated Science/Social Studies
    • Three elective subjects relevant to the program of choice

 

 

SSSCE Candidates:

  • Must have at least credit passes (A-D) in six subjects (three core + three electives)

 

 

2️⃣ GCE Advanced Level Applicants

✅ Must have:

  • Passes in at least three subjects (one of which should be Grade D or better)
  • Credit passes in five GCE Ordinary Level subjects, including English, Mathematics, and a Science or Social Science subject

 

 

3️⃣ TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) Applicants

✅ Must hold one of the following qualifications:

  • Certificate II in three relevant trade areas
  • National Board for Professional and Technicians Examination (NABPTEX) qualification in a related field

 

 

4️⃣ Special Admission for Persons with Disabilities

👩‍🦯 Visually Impaired Applicants:

  • Can apply to:
    • N.J. Ahmadiyya College of Education (Wa)
    • Wesley College of Education (Kumasi)
    • Presbyterian College of Education (Akropong)

 

 

🦻 Hearing-Impaired Applicants:

  • Can apply to:
    • Presbyterian College of Education (Akropong)
