Ghana’s 46 public Colleges of Education have opened applications for the 2025/2026 academic year. Find out the entry requirements, how to apply, and the deadline for submission.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially opened admissions for the 2025/2026 academic year at 46 public Colleges of Education across the country. These institutions offer a four-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degree, aimed at training the next generation of professional teachers in Ghana.

If you are an aspiring teacher, this is your golden opportunity to pursue an accredited degree in education and contribute to Ghana’s academic sector.

📌 General Admission Requirements for Colleges of Education in Ghana

1️⃣ WASSCE/SSSCE Applicants

✅ WASSCE Candidates:

Must have credit passes (A1-C6) in six subjects, including:
- Three core subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Integrated Science/Social Studies
- Three elective subjects relevant to the program of choice

✅ SSSCE Candidates:

Must have at least credit passes (A-D) in six subjects (three core + three electives)

2️⃣ GCE Advanced Level Applicants

✅ Must have:

Passes in at least three subjects (one of which should be Grade D or better)
Credit passes in five GCE Ordinary Level subjects, including English, Mathematics, and a Science or Social Science subject

3️⃣ TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) Applicants

✅ Must hold one of the following qualifications:

Certificate II in three relevant trade areas
National Board for Professional and Technicians Examination (NABPTEX) qualification in a related field

4️⃣ Special Admission for Persons with Disabilities

👩‍🦯 Visually Impaired Applicants:

Can apply to:
- N.J. Ahmadiyya College of Education (Wa)
- Wesley College of Education (Kumasi)
- Presbyterian College of Education (Akropong)

🦻 Hearing-Impaired Applicants:

Can apply to:
- Presbyterian College of Education (Akropong)
