The Administrator of the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund), Dr. Richard Ampofo Boadu, has counseled the leadership of the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) on the need to consciously work towards building networks with dependable, credible and visionary individuals in order to leverage on the opportunities inherent in trusted relationships.
‘‘The youth should be mindful of the fact that deliberate attempts at establishing links with vision-driven mates and/or associates is the surest way to unlock opportunities for personal development and future assurance crafted on substance. Remember, your network is your net worth’. Dr. Boadu emphasized.
The GETFund Administrator took his turn on Monday 9th January 2023, to engage the leadership of NUGS at its four-day Retreat and Training program held at the TF Hall, University of Ghana, Accra.

Speaking on the topic ‘Social Networking’, the Administrator entreated the young leaders to be honest and sincere in all their dealings as that will become the basis for creating an enduring and trustworthy bond for the realization of aspirations in life. ‘‘Do not let it be said of you that this person is dishonest due to previous bad deals you engaged in as a student leader.’’ He added.
Dr. Richard A. Boadu said the basis of creating successful networks begins with the individual’s profile of skills and knowledge in the relevant field. He advised the young leaders to go beyond the first degree and add more value to themselves.

This, he said should be in tandem with the current job market needs. He added, ‘‘the job market today has gone beyond a first degree or diploma certificates. You need a master’s qualification among others, in order to set yourself apart from your peer. You also need the added advantage of professional work ethics and the right network…
