EducationGhana| July 23|2022 GES begins data collection and subject Audit of French Teachers in Public Schools:

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has started collecting data on French Teachers in Public Basic and Senior High schools.

the GES in a later dated, July 19, 2022, to all Regional Directors of Education, indicated, that as part of measures to ensure effective implementation of the Standaard Based Curriculum (SBC) for the French Language, All Regional Directors should;

  1. Collect data on French Teachers in the first and Second Cyc;e Schools
  2. Conduct a subject Audit of French Teachers in the first and second Cycle schools
  3. Map first cycle schools for the implementation of cluster-based teaching of French

The exercise, according to the GES, is intended to provide detailed data on French teachers in order to enable the service to make maximum use of the French teachers to fill the gaps, especially in Primary and Junior High Schools.

SUBJECT AUDIT

In addition, the GES said heads of schools are to check the certificates of all teaching staff in order to identify those who were trained to teach french.

The GES thereby requested that all Metropolitan, Municipal and District Directors of Education ensure that the data is collected and the mapping of schools done and forwarded to the Regional Education Office for collation and onward submission to schoolsandinstructions.seip@ges.gov.gh by c.lose of work on Friday, August 5, 2022.
