Ferdinand | EducationGhana | March 20| Urgent Appeal for Teachers at Anum Presby Senior High School – Apply Here
Anum Presby Senior High School urgently requests qualified teachers in various subject areas due to a shortage following the departure of staff. The school seeks swift support from the Ghana Education Service.
Anum Presby Senior High School has raised an urgent request for teachers in several subject areas as a result of a critical shortage of teaching staff following the recent departure of teachers from key positions. The shortage has been caused by teachers vacating their posts and leaving the country, which has left the school with significant gaps in staff coverage.
In an official letter addressed to the Regional Director of the Ghana Education Service, the school highlighted the need for qualified educators in the following subject areas:
Teachers Needed in Specific Subject Areas:
- Chemistry: 2 teachers required
- Physics: 2 teachers required
- Integrated Science: 4 teachers required
- Core Mathematics: 5 teachers required
- Government: 2 teachers required
- Physical Education: 2 teachers required
- Accounts Clerks: 2 clerks required    The school emphasized that this shortage of teachers is affecting the academic performance of students. As a result, the headmistress, Mrs. Stella Naa Enyo Atiase, has formally requested the Ghana Education Service’s assistance in addressing the issue and providing the necessary teaching staff to fill these vacancies as a matter of urgency.
Impact of Teacher Shortage
The absence of qualified teachers in these critical subject areas could have a lasting impact on the academic progression of the students at Anum Presby Senior High School. With subjects such as Core Mathematics, Integrated Science, and Chemistry forming the foundation for many academic disciplines, the lack of competent teachers in these subjects could hinder students’ ability to excel in their final exams.
A Call for Immediate Support
The school has expressed serious concerns about the situation and is hoping for an expedited response from the Ghana Education Service to address the staffing gaps. With the school’s academic performance potentially at risk, providing these teachers is seen as a crucial step toward maintaining educational standards.
Mrs. Stella Naa Enyo Atiase further reiterated that the vacancy of these positions also affects the students’ practical learning experience, particularly in areas like Physics and Chemistry, where laboratory work and hands-on instruction are essential.
The appeal stresses the importance of having a stable teaching staff to prevent any further disruption in students’ academic journey, especially in preparation for crucial exams that determine their futures.
