 UPSA honours Prof. Joshua Alabi, H.E. Nana Konadu Agyemang-Rawlings and Mr. Joseph K. Horgle with honorary doctorates in recognition of their public service, leadership and contributions to national development.At the 5th Session of the 17th Congregation on Thursday, 4 December 2025, the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) awarded honorary doctorate degrees to three distinguished Ghanaian leaders.The recipients, including the former First Vice-Chancellor of UPSA, the former First Lady (represented by her daughter, Dr Zanetor Rawlings), and the Founder and Chairman of J.K. Horgle Transport, were recognized for their remarkable service and transformative leadership in education, national development, and entrepreneurship.

Honouring Leaders Who Inspire Excellence

In his remarks, UPSA Vice-Chancellor described the honorees as “eminent Ghanaians” whose dedicated service and leadership journeys continue to inspire excellence across sectors. Guest of honour and representative of the President, the Chief of Staff, , praised them as “trailblazers” whose work has shaped national progress in governance, academia, and business.Prof. Alabi, speaking on behalf of the recipients, expressed gratitude and shared a powerful reflection on leadership. He underscored the importance of channelling resistance and challenges into progress and urged institutions and individuals alike to build systems that sustain excellence over time.
