The University of Ghana has honoured 11 outstanding staff members at the maiden Central Administration Staff Awards, recognizing their exceptional service, innovation, and leadership.

 

The University of Ghana (UG) has recognised 11 outstanding staff members for their exceptional service, innovation, and leadership at the inaugural Central Administration Staff Awards. This initiative highlights UG’s commitment to excellence and aims to foster a culture of dedication across all levels of administration.

Categories and Recognition

The awards were presented in three categories:
Senior Member Awards
Senior Staff Awards
Junior Staff Awards

Each awardee received a plaque, a citation, and a cash prize as a token of appreciation for their contributions to the university.

Leadership Acknowledges Dedication

Speaking at the ceremony, Mrs. Emelia Agyei-Mensah, the Registrar of UG, commended the winners for their commitment to excellence:

“Your dedication embodies the values of UG and is instrumental in advancing our mission and vision.”

Chairing the event on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (ASA) Prof. Gordon Awandare, also praised the recipients, stating:

“We recognise your exceptional work and hope that this award inspires you to continue setting high standards and mentoring others.”

Awardees Express Gratitude

On behalf of the awardees, Mr. Frederick Yuorkuu, Senior Assistant Registrar at the Academic Affairs Directorate, who was adjudged Best Senior Member (Administrator), expressed appreciation to the university’s management:

“This recognition reaffirms the University’s investment in its staff. We are grateful for the acknowledgment and will continue to work hard in our respective roles.”
