The interim Students’ representative council executives at the University of Ghana has petitioned the management of the institution over the on-site supplementary re-sit examination.
According to the Kwame Fianko-led-SRC, the new arrangement will disadvantage students who are currently not in the country but have registered in the hope that the examination will be carried out online.
He stated that the petition comes at the back of several complaints from the student populace regarding the new model expected to be rolled out by the University for this year’s re-sit examination.

“This means foreign students and other students who are outside the country will be deprived of such right since they cannot travel in and outside the country. The net effect is that final year students who are unable to partake in the exams due to one or all of the above reasons will not graduate; a situation which will be so dire.” part of the petition reads
Among other challenges outlined by the student’s body, the SRC also noted that reports from some students indicate that the adherence to COVID-19 protocols would restrained candidates who are in isolation to return to campus notwithstanding the additional cost of transportation this new model will impose on both students and parents.
