University Campus Taxi Association Facilitates Smooth Transition for Fresh Students
The University of Ghana Campus Taxi Association at Evandy and Bani has risen to the occasion as fresh students arrive on campus. Under the leadership of Mr. Eric Boateng, the association is leveraging its extensive knowledge of campus routes to provide efficient transportation and assistance to Level 100 students, ensuring a seamless transition.
Smooth Operations for Fresh Students
In an exclusive interview with Univers Business, Mr. Boateng highlighted the association’s preparedness to manage the influx of new students:
“Now, we have Level 100 students on campus, and as you know, when fresh students come, we have to show them a lot of places. We’ve been working here for a long time, so we know everywhere on campus. When they mention the name of a place, we take them there. So far, we have not faced any challenges.”
To ensure smooth operations, the association has held several meetings with its members to organize themselves effectively and prepare for the new students’ needs.

Affordable Shared Taxi Services
As part of its efforts to make transportation more accessible, the association has introduced a shared taxi service, operational at Evandy and Bani since last year. This initiative allows students to travel across campus for a flat rate of 5 cedis per trip.
“One thing we are still doing is sharing taxis so that anyone can afford the transport. Shared taxis have been operational since last year, and the price is capped at 5 cedis to any destination on campus,” Mr. Boateng explained.
Support for Special Needs Students
Since 2016, the University Campus Taxi Association has provided free transportation services for special needs students, ferrying them to the university hospital at no cost. However, this year, the association has faced challenges in connecting with these students:
“Since 2016, we have been transporting special needs students for free from campus to the university hospital. But this year, we have not received any calls as in previous years. We are waiting for their calls and remain ready to resume this vital service,” Mr. Boateng said.
A Commitment to Service
The University Campus Taxi Association’s efforts reflect its dedication to ensuring a positive campus experience for all students. By providing affordable and inclusive transportation options, the association plays a vital role in supporting students as they navigate their academic journey.
