The University of Education, Winneba (UEW), celebrated its 29th Congregation with a momentous First Session, where Enoch Enyan, a graduate in Strategic Communication, was named the valedictorian. Enyan achieved an outstanding Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.96, earning him the title of Overall Best Student for the Class of 2024.

An Inspirational Speech to Fellow Graduates

In his compelling valedictory address, Enyan encouraged his fellow graduates to step into their roles as leaders and changemakers. Reflecting on his journey as the 2023 President of the Communication Students Association (CoMSSA), he shared how perseverance and determination fueled his success.

“Combining the responsibilities of the presidency with academic work was extremely backbreaking, but with perseverance, I sailed through successfully,” he stated, emphasizing the values of excellence, integrity, and compassion instilled throughout their academic journey.

Harnessing Unique Talents for Global Impact

Enyan’s speech called upon graduates to embrace the complexities of the ever-changing world and seize boundless opportunities to make a difference.

“The world that awaits us is vast, complex, and ever-changing. It is filled with boundless opportunities, limitless possibilities, and infinite potential. And it is a world in desperate need of our unique talents, perspectives, and contributions,” he noted.

He also urged his peers to set clear goals, work tirelessly, and trust in determination and divine guidance to achieve success.

“The study group I belonged to was one of the most resilient and consistent groups on campus. Today, I am proud to say that all four members are graduating with first-class honours,” he said, showcasing the power of teamwork and dedication.

Enyan shared the challenges he overcame and the unwavering support he received from family, friends, and faculty members. His words were a testament to the transformative power of education and perseverance.

“As I stand before you today, I am filled with a sense of humility and pride. Humility because I am aware of the privilege that comes with standing here as the valedictorian of this noble university, and pride because I am deeply honoured to represent the achievements of my fellow classmates,” he remarked.

A Celebration of Excellence and New Beginnings

The 29th Congregation at the Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Conference Centre marked a celebration of the graduates’ hard work and heralded the start of new opportunities.

Enyan’s powerful message of hope resonated throughout the ceremony, urging graduates to leverage their education for lasting societal impact.

“Congratulations, Class of 2024! I am immensely proud to have shared this unforgettable experience with you all, and I do not doubt that the impact we will make in the world will be nothing short of extraordinary,” he concluded.
