The teachers in a statement issued on February 09, 2022, indicated that the decision by the GES to o4ganize an online workshop was against the Memorandum of Understanding signed by the teacher Unions on the “One Teacher, One Laptop” Initiative.
We, the undersigned teachers, in our capacity as members of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), write to demand that the Ghana Education Service(HQ) comply with the memorandum signed by the teacher Unions on the “One Teacher, One Laptop” Initiative.
It was shocking to have read a letter from GES dated 8th February 2022 with reference number GES /HQ/SDTU/11/22 signed by Mr Anthony Boateng, Deputy Director-General(MS) calling on teachers to attend a three(3) to four(4) day online training on the use of laptops yet to supplied to the majority of teachers across the country for which the teachers would be given CPD points and certificates of participation.
