Numeracy and Literacy to be excluded from Teacher Licensure Exams by the end of 2022

EducationGhana| February 04| Teacher Licensure Exams: The National Teaching Council (NTC) has said that it was excluding Numeracy and Literacy from its annual Ghana Teacher Licensure Exams (GTLE).

The NTC said as part of nits reforms expected to be implemented by the end of 2022, the teacher licensure examination will soon blend an assessment of both the professional and competency of teachers.

 

The NTC indicated, that Under the proposed plan, numeracy and literacy will be taken off the exams and candidates will be examined both in professionalism and competence in their major subject areas.

Registrar for the National Training Council, Dr Christian Addai-Poku, made this revelation during its February 2022 stakeholders meeting as part of new reforms of the GTLE  expected to be implemented by the end of the year.
