St. Mary’s Seminary Senior High School (SMASCO) has qualified for the 2023 National Science and Maths Quiz Championship to represent the Oti Region in the National Championship.

SMASCO started the competition with a convincing win from round one to the final round by beating Likpe SHS, Tapaman SHTS and the Nkonya SHS.

SMASCO is set to join other notable schools in the Oti Region to represent the region and make the region proud at the national championship.

About St. Mary’s Seminary SHS, Lolobi 

St. Mary’s Seminary SHS, Lolobi is a boys-only second-cycle institution in Lolobi, in the Oti Region of Ghana.

It was founded in 1961 by the Catholic Missionaries as a Community School under the auspices of Most Rev. Anthony Konings of blessed memory, the then Bishop of Keta, as the Minor Seminary for the Diocese of Keta. It later became a government-assisted Secondary School in 1973.

The school’s motto is “Domine Adsum”, which means “Lord, here I am”. It has a student population of about 1,500-1,700 and offers a variety of academic and extracurricular programs.

The school’s mission is to train dedicated and God-fearing young men who will grow to provide quality service, worthy of emulation, in whatever capacities they find themselves, be it religious or secular leaders of tomorrow.

St. Mary’s Seminary SHS, Lolobi is a well-respected school in Ghana and has produced many notable alumni, including priests, politicians, and businessmen. The school is known for its strong academic tradition and its commitment to providing a holistic education.
