The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced that all public basic schools across the country will resume on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, for the second term of the 2024/25 academic year.
The announcement comes as part of the revised academic calendar aimed at ensuring uninterrupted teaching and learning in public schools. Teachers, parents, and students are expected to take note of this date to ensure a smooth start to the new term.
The second term is expected to focus on core academic activities, extracurricular engagements, and preparations for end-of-term assessments. School authorities have been urged to make all necessary arrangements to welcome pupils back for the continuation of the academic year.
The GES has also reminded parents to ensure that their children return to school on time, well-prepared with all required materials for a productive term.
This resumption date aligns with efforts to maintain consistency in the academic calendar, following disruptions in recent years due to unforeseen circumstances.
