Ms Nadia Lachechoe Annan, the headmistress of O’Reilly Senior High School, has been asked to step aside for allegedly collecting unauthorized fees from parents, a violation of Ghana Education Service policies.

Accra, Ghana – The Ghana Education Service (GES) has directed Ms. Nadia Lachechoe Annan, headmistress of O’Reilly Senior High School, to step aside following allegations of unauthorized fee collection during the SHS1 admissions process.

According to the GES, the money collected from parents was imposed as part of the school’s admissions processing fees, which constitutes a breach of regulations governing free SHS education in Ghana.

In light of this information and the potential violation of the code of conduct for teachers, Ms. Lachechoe Annan has been requested to vacate her position pending investigations.

She has also been instructed to hand over school property to the District Director of Education for Ledzekuku, who will assume temporary leadership. The Municipal Director of Education will oversee the school and provide oversight during this period.

This decisive action by the GES serves as a strong message to all heads of free SHS schools in Ghana, emphasizing the importance of adhering to established rules and regulations.
