NUGS distributes mathematical sets to BECE candidates

The National Union of Ghana Students on Tuesday, June 4 distributed mathematical sets to candidates of the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) from Ampeyoo-Krofrom D/A JHS, Akrofrom D/A JHS and Apagya D/A JHS, all in the Ashanti region.

The mathematical sets were given to the candidates at the end of a two-day visit, which included a full day’s Face to Face Inspirational Encounter with them.

The Encounter was organized by Nsoroma Publications in partnership with NUGS.

The mother student union was represented by Kobby Otchere Marfo, the Press and Information Secretary, Eric Guggisberg Asante, Financial Controller, and Eric Osei Akoto, the Programmes and Projects Secretary.

They handed over the mathematical equipment to the students who were elated to be supported in this way.

The teachers of the schools expressed appreciation for the gesture and pledged to be even keener in these final days of preparation of the candidates for the BECE.

Explaining his motivation for this donation, Mr. Otchere Marfo stated, “NUGS as the mother body of all students in Ghana is bound to strive for student progress on all fronts.”

“While this donation is not nationwide, it is a noteworthy touchstone for reaching out to students in whichever way possible.”

In concluding his visits to the candidates, Mr Otchere Marfo charged the students to be rigorous in preparing, get enough rest and eat healthy foods to maintain their edge in facing their first major academic examination.
