The Department of Educational Foundations (DEF) at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) hosted a transformative two-day workshop from Thursday, 19th to Friday, 20th December 2024.
The event aimed to revamp the Professional General Education courses to ensure alignment with evolving educational standards and better prepare educators for the upcoming academic year.
Workshop Objectives and Outcomes
The initiative focused on developing comprehensive course manuals and standardized slide decks, which are crucial for enhancing course delivery and improving learning outcomes. The updated resources will align with:
- Recent changes to the Senior High School (SHS) Curriculum.
- The re-alignment of Bachelor of Education Programmes to address modern educational challenges.

Dr. Paul Kobina Effrim, Head of DEF-UEW, highlighted the workshop’s importance:
