Koforidua Technical University Installs Dr. Kwesi Eduafo Yankey as First Chancellor
Koforidua Technical University (KTU) has reached a significant milestone in its history with the swearing-in of Dr. Kwesi Eduafo Yankey as its inaugural Chancellor. Established in 1997, the Koforidua-based institution continues to assert itself as a key player in technical education in Ghana.
A Vision for Excellence and Innovation
Speaking at his investiture ceremony at the Abba Bentil Hall, Dr. Yankey pledged to collaborate with stakeholders to elevate KTU to world-class status. He outlined his ambitious vision of transforming the university into a hub for innovation, entrepreneurship, and academic excellence.
“I aim to position Koforidua Technical University as a prime institution, renowned for innovative thinking, entrepreneurial spirit, and sustainable practices. Together, we will foster an environment where collective responsibility thrives,” Dr. Yankey stated.

The new Chancellor highlighted his commitment to addressing global challenges such as climate change, environmental stewardship, and social responsibility. He emphasized that KTU would prioritize resource efficiency and equip students with the skills, discipline, and confidence needed to thrive academically and professionally.
“We will empower students with knowledge and character, shaping them into leaders who drive progress and contribute to a shared vision of making KTU a world-class institution,” he added.
