KNUST Swears In Shakir Is-Haq as SRC President for the 2025/2026 Academic Year

Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has officially sworn in Shakir Is-Haq as the new SRC President for the 2025/2026 academic year during a colourful inauguration ceremony.

The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has inaugurated Shakir Is-Haq as the Student Representative Council (SRC) President for the 2025/2026 academic year at a well-attended handing-over ceremony on campus.

The ceremony marked the formal transition of leadership from the outgoing administration to the new SRC executives who are expected to steer the affairs of the student body for the next academic year.


A Symbolic Attire of Leadership

Shakir Is-Haq drew public attention with his traditional Emir-inspired attire, made from handwoven cotton, which symbolises authority, cultural pride, and leadership. The unique outfit stood out as a statement of identity and purpose, reflecting his intent to lead with dignity, tradition, and modern vision.


Student Expectations and Vision Ahead

In his inaugural address, Shakir Is-Haq expressed gratitude to the student community for their confidence in his leadership. He pledged to prioritise student welfare, academic innovation, digital engagement, and inclusivity across all faculties.

He further highlighted the need for a strong partnership between students and university management to promote transparency, campus development, and welfare-oriented policies.
