The Minority in Parliament has called for the immediate testing of students and staff of all Senior High Schools (SHS).
Final year SHS students resumed school yesterday (June 23, 2020) to prepare for their final year examinations.
Government says adequate measures have been put in place including disinfection of the schools and provision of nose masks, veronica buckets, liquid soaps and hand sanitizers to prevent an outbreak of the coronavirus disease in the schools.
However, Minority spokesperson on Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh says checks have revealed that a lot of the students and teachers are without the masks, which exposes them to danger.
This statement comes in the wake of Accra Technical University recording its first COVID-19 case and there are remours that some students of senior high schools are experiencing signs of COVID-19.
