The National Teaching Council is mandated by Education Regulatory Bodies Act 2020 (ACT 1023) to regulate the teaching profession in Ghana.

    Purpose of the Licensure Exam

The purpose of the Licensing Examination is to enable qualified teachers to acquire a professional licence and prepare teachers to meet the demands of the National Teachers’ Standards of possessing the minimum knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes necessary to deliver effectively in schools

The management of the National Teaching Council NTC has announced to conduct the 2023 Teacher Licensure Examination in June/July.

However, prospective candidates who will be writing the exams this year are urged to strengthen their preparation towards the exams.

The management of the National Teaching Council made this pronouncement when speaking at an induction Ceremony of the newly trained teachers from colleges of education.
