Ghana Secures Hosting Rights for Africa’s Premier EdTech Conference in 2026
As part of its commitment to ensuring equitable access to quality education, the Ministry of Education has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with eLearning Africa, confirming Ghana as the official host of the 18th edition of the eLearning Africa Conference, scheduled for June 3–5, 2026 in Accra.
The international conference, regarded as Africa’s largest annual gathering on ICT for education, training, and skills development, will bring together experts, educators, policymakers, innovators, and development partners from across Africa and the world.
A Strategic Leap in Ghana’s Educational Vision
Speaking at the MoU signing, Hon. Dr. Clement Abas Apaak, Deputy Minister for Education, emphasized the significance of the conference to Ghana’s education reform agenda.
“This partnership positions Ghana at the heart of Africa’s digital learning transformation. It is an opportunity to showcase our investments in initiatives like GALOP and the Education Strategic Plan (2018–2030),” he stated.
Dr. Apaak stressed that the event will also support Ghana’s long-term efforts in teacher capacity building, digital literacy, and inclusive learning through targeted education reforms.

Global and Pan-African Knowledge Exchange
Rebecca Stromeyer, the Founder and CEO of eLearning Africa, highlighted the importance of collaboration:
“A wide range of stakeholders will gather for three days to share their work, build partnerships, and promote knowledge exchange that advances learning across the continent.”
She noted that the 2026 edition will focus on digital innovation, equity in access, teacher empowerment, and lifelong learning.
